DDC holds Public darbar at Hiranagar

KATHUA, JULY 29: District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Mr. Sanjeev Verma convened a public grievances camp at Tehsil office, Hiranagar today.
MLA, Hirnagar Mr. Durga Dass, MLC, Mr. Subash Gupta, Ex- MLA Mr. Girdhari Lal, Additional District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Mr. M.S. Sheikh, Executive Engineers of PWD, PHE, Irrigation PDD, Flood Control, District officers along with Tehsil level and block level officers and large number of people from Hiranagar and border areas were present at the camp.
The people of Hirnagar, Marheen, Jandi, Rajpura, Ghagwal, Sher pur, Dayalachak, Kote punnu, Chakra, Babiya, Druma Chak and other border areas projected various demands and problems before the district administration. The problems were mostly related to scarcity of drinking water, uninterrupted power, dilapidated condition of roads, shortage of staff in educational institutions, payment of land acquisition cases, supply of seed and fertilizers, and supply of ration at CAPD depots etc.
Prominent citizens demanded eviction of encroachments from Government land and provision of better drinking water facilities in Hiranagar town and widening of Dayalachak to Hiranagar road. Other demands put forth the DDC included special line for PHE stations, timely de-silting of irrigation Canals and timely supply of seed and fertilizers to the farmers.
The people of Kootah demanded compensation to the owners for over 300 kanals of land acquired for North zone CRP training Centre at Kootah. The People of border areas demanded compensation of 3 and 4 crop mined land. They also demanded establishment of Apni Mandi. The People of Chakra demanded bridge over Tarnah nallah. The people of Chhan Khatrian demanded construction of boundary wall of Middle School Chhan Khatrian. The people also demanded repair of defunct hand pumps in the area. The DDC assured that the genuine demands of the people will be met in a time bound manner.
