About Us

Thanks for visiting www.northlines.in, your independent source on the Web for news, facts and figures relating to Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh and its neighborhood.
While the world is abounding by clutters of perspectives on Jammu and Kashmir, we embarked on this endeavor to offer a sense of balance and the correct perspective. And that is what the Northlines has been doing over the last 13 years with honesty and integrity.
Started in 1995 by the public spirited and clear thinking people who are quite familiar with the state, its history, culture, geography, ethos, politics and various socio-economic changes that the state has seen in last several decades, the Northlines carries forward boldly the vision consistently. Being published as a Daily from Jammu, the winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir, the NL provides news, investigative stories, analysis, features, special columns and articles from eminent writers in an alluring and neatly-laid out pages.
The Northlines is not affiliated with any political party or organization thus putting us in a unique position to appraise them as they deserve. Unlike other newspapers, we are neither pro nor against any particular political party or group but we do intend to raise our voice against ill-conceived government policies and corrupt practices regardless of the party.
NL's evolving USP is taking a firm stand on issues and events while covering them impartially and honestly. Keeping pace with the time, the Northlines too is available on Web for the netizens having some interest in Jammu and Kashmir. As we all know, people from J&K are making their presence felt all over the globe, the need was felt even more to keep them well informed about their state.
It was our endeavor to make the website simple and easily navigable. Your comments, ideas and suggestions are quite welcome. Your feedback to us will be highly appreciated and help us decide the future and shape of this Web site and publication.

Once again, we thank you for your patronage.
